(TSX-V: YD) (OTC: YDRMF) (Frankfurt: A2AP0L) ("YDreams" or the "Company") a leading designer and developer of augmented and virtual reality experiences, and Studio 41B, an immersive creative design studio, today announced that the two companies will collaborate on integrating and distributing a turnkey free-roam, room scale multi-user interactive VR experience for leading family entertainment centers (FECs) and VR arcade centers. Studio 41B will act as a preferred integrator/reseller in the United States of YDreams' Arkave VR platform.
Studio 41B is one of the leading fabrication and design companies in the theme and amusement park industry, and they have elevated the profile of numerous FEC clients. Their client list includes leading brands such as Walt Disney World, Legoland Florida, Marriott Hotels, PepsiCo, Rainforest Cafe, and Seattle's Best Coffee, among others. The partnership with YDreams marks Studio 41B's first major foray into the VR market.
"I have looked at VR for a long time, as we design entertainment venues, and I had never found anything that I liked or excited me, and when YDreams came into our studio, I really liked their product," said Doug Wilkerson, CEO of Studio 41B. "I found the Arkave VR product to be superior to the other VR solutions in the market. I like the idea that they have moved away from tethered units and that they continue to evolve into smaller, less-strenuous equipment. We look forward to helping Arkave VR move into the U.S. FEC market."
Launching Arkave VR in the United States with Studio 41B will accelerate the distribution and sales of Arkave VR due to their extensive network and impeccable reputation. The collaboration would also extend to the production capabilities in building and installing Arkave VR arenas. Initial conversations are underway for several installations with Studio 41B's clients as interest levels for a unique immersive VR attraction like this is growing.
Family Entertainment Centers and similar venues represent the biggest market for Arkave VR in the world. "Future Market Insights forecasts revenue from the Global Family/Indoor Entertainment Centers market to increase from about US$ 17 Bn in 2017 to about US$ 61 Bn by 2027 end, representing a CAGR of 13.3% from 2017 to 2027. This increasing revenue growth is attributed to the continuous launch of new FECs supporting sustained growth of this market."
According to the Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) there are approximately 30,000 attractions (theme and amusement parks, water parks, family entertainment centers, zoos, aquariums, science centers, etc.) in the United States, each representing a potential opportunity for a Arkave VR installation.
YDreams and Studio 41B will demonstrate Arkave VR at Booth #4552 at the IAAPA Attractions Expo, from November 13-16 and will set up special appointments at Pointe Orlando Mall, where Arkave VR will be installed during the week of the event. The demonstration will showcase YDreams game 'The Last Squad,' a wave-based alien shooter immersive experience like no other, After the Expo, a permanent installation will be available at Studio 41B Showroom in Lake Wales, Florida.
IAAPA Attractions Expo is the largest international trade show for the amusements and attractions industry, featuring 1,000 exhibitors, over 570,000 net square feet of exhibit space, and more than 35,000 participants.
"We have conducted several successful pilots of Arkave VR in the past few months, and we are now ready for a nationwide US roll-out of what we see as the most entertaining VR experience for multiple users," said Daniel Japiassu, CEO of YDreams Global. "Together with Studio 41B, we can reach a wider range of venues with innovative design implementations to serve the largest number of VR consumers who want to experience the latest in immersive entertainment."
The VR arcade market is projected as a $45 billion market by 2025, according to Grand View Research.
Recent demonstrations of Arkave VR include Brazil's Game XP, and the Extraordinary Future and VR/AR Global Summit events in Vancouver which were extremely successful, with more than 4,000 users experiencing 'The Last Squad'. The overall reception to Arkave VR from both hard-core and casual gamers alike has been stellar.
"We have received enormously positive feedback in our early pilots for Arkave VR, touting it as the one of the best multiplayer VR experiences in the world," said Francisco Chaves, head of Arkave VR. "The US market has tremendous potential for the kinds of next-generation experiences that we plan to integrate with Studio 41B."
